All-American Breakfast Porridge

 

It shouldn't work but it so, so does.... 

All-American porridge

 

Ingredients:  

1 cup oats 

3 cups milk 

2 tablespoons maple syrup 

3 rashers smoked bacon 

1 sausage

 

Method: 

1. Fry the bacon until crispy. Also cook the sausage until golden. 

2. Place the oats and milk in a saucepan. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 3 - 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

3. When the porridge is thick and creamy, stir in a tablespoon of maple syrup. 

4. Spoon the porridge into a serving bowl.

5. Chop the sausage into thick slices. Place the sausage and bacon on top of the porridge. 

6. Drizzle over the remaining maple syrup.
